6 am and Weird Photographer

Sorry I haven't gotten the POTDs up... This week Steve has had to be on base at 7am, which means he's dropping me off at work at 6am (well before my alarm normally goes off). Since I'm not a morning person I am dead when I get home, and I had 2 shoots on Mon & Tues so I've been going through those. I have them, I will post them as soon as I get a chance that I am coherant.

I also model (for those who didn't know), and I applied for a casting call on ModelMayhem for an Artist's model (after getting more info I think it's for a school, though it still wasn't clear). Ok, talk about weirdness, the photographer/artist who is conducting the casting call appears to want NOTHING to do with nudes, but it's for an artistic nude artist's model (?). And he wants a full body shot in a "swimsuit" ("no nudes") so he can see your body shape... umm.... a swimsuit will hold you in all over the place... (unless MAYBE it's a bikini...). The whole thing made no sense. So yeah, I'm not doing that, even if it didn't mean taking off from my normal job.

So that's a little of my week..... I'll see you after I recover.

POTD Will Begin Shortly

I'll begin a Photo Of The Day here shortly (would have right now but I left the card reader at home and I'm at my in-laws). I'll put the info about the equipment and settings I used. Any other information you think I should add?

"Mash the Button" duh?

I was just reading a tutorial article on DPS, and the person said "mash shutter butan". Ok, I grew up in Texas, but I will NEVER understand why people from the south use "mash" instead of "press"/"push"/etc. Mash just sounds WAY too forceful for delicate equipment. You mash potatoes, you press or push buttons... I know it's a "how you learned" type thing, but just listen to it... I can just hear the buttons breaking!

I think I'll go read my book about the murders of the English language now.....

Double Date

Just got back from a double date with Alicia! We went to the Olive Garden. I finally got to meet her guy. He's awesome, especially for her. It's easy to just sit there and have hour long conversations. Now the boys are working on computers. :D

Edit - Later:
I wish we could have just stayed up all night, it would have been so easy. But since Steve has to get up so early because of the military weekend we had to wrap it up at 1am...

Mother's Love

I'm working on a book project. I want to put together a "coffee table" book. This book will use mostly high contrast lighting images to portrait pregnancy and motherhood in the most natural way possible, how we ourselves came into the world. Any women/families who wish to help contribute to this project will receive:
  • The shoot at no cost: (1-2 hrs per "session", the artistic session, and the session for you)
  • 1 - 11x14 print matted to 16x20
  • 2 - 8x10 prints
  • 5 - 5x7 prints
  • 15 - Web Images
Pleas visit the website for more information and examples.

New Blog, Military Weekend

Well another military weekend for the husband and I've decided to do a normal blog instead of the one on my site. If anyone wants to keep me company I'm just sitting here watching MASH. I think the next big purchase is another car.

I'm still trying to decide which photos from the air show to turn in to prints. I'd like the input from everyone. Tell me what your top 5 images are, you may see your favorite available to hang on your wall some time. :D
